![]() You also suck up enemies with A, and occassionally use their powers with it (like Fire and Electricity). You steer with the joystick and hold down A to brake, and on most ships, boost. The only buttons you ever need to use are A and the joystick (though R and L substitute for A, and the C stick changes camera angles). This seems to be the most common complaint about the game, aside from it being just plain "kiddy". The music is fun and upbeat, and the sounds are all appropriate and satisfying (especially when you whack someone with Sword ability). The graphics in City Trial are extremely simple, but are far from distracting. Top Ride graphics are extremely good, since the track never moves, allowing for the detail they put into it. The graphics displayed in Air Ride certainly involve you in the dream world of Kirby, as the tracks range from Celestial Valley, a beautiful cliffside with a waterfall, to Checker Knights, a course with a sort of castle theme. Despite their simplicity, however, I still consider them to be pretty good. They are generally pretty simple, especially in City Trial and some of the simpler Air Ride courses (I'll get into modes of play later). You'll probably be surprised.Īnyway, I'll do the typical review setup:Īnyone watching this game would probably not be to impressed with what this game has, compared to say, F-Zero. ![]() While I'm not here to encourage you to buy it, I am going to ask you to take a closer look and maybe give it a rent. The amount required is as follows:Ĭompleting the checklist is required for 100% completion of the game. While objectives can be completed at any time, the objectives are not shown to the player until enough Medals are collected to do so. There are 35 tasks in all, separated into five pages. Kirby Mass Attack Main article: Checklist (Kirby Mass Attack)Ī Checklist is kept in this title, which is filled in by performing various tasks in the main game. Filling in all 120 for each one is necessary for 100% completion, and all boxes of the completed Checklist will turn gold-colored (except for those checked off by the purple filler). The following pages link to tables listing each objective, and rewards, if applicable:įilling in 100 boxes is necessary to 'complete' the game mode, which unlocks its Ending movie. ![]() Each list has 5 fillers to obtain, which means the player only has to complete at least 115 objectives of a Checklist. One reward in particular is a purple Checklist filler, which the player can use to automatically complete an objective they find to be too difficult, or just don't want to bother with. When clearing certain objectives (red boxes after completion), rewards are given, such as Kirby palette swaps, new Air Ride Machines, Sound Test music tracks, and other rewards. From there, adjacent boxes to those cleared in the list will have their objectives shown. At first, the objectives will be unknown to the player, but playing the game should be enough to unlock the first few by happenstance. Each list consists of 120 boxes, each with their own objective to satisfy. There are three distinct Checklists in Kirby Air Ride - one for each game mode.
